Flag On The Post: Week 6 PostGame Edition

38-10

For 7 years, McCoy was Lavonte David’s biggest cheerleader in Tampa.

He hasn’t relented on calling #54 the best in the game.

I love puns.

Say cheese!!!!

The “big one”?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

But it was fun to watch.

And you’d be a fish-eyed fool if you don’t see how serious this BUCS defense can be.

The BEST 3-Pump Celebration Reaction Can Be Found Here.

Can’t lie.

I cracked up at the TD celebration.

Unexpected.

By the beginning of the 4th quarter, it was Rodgers that was cracked up though.

Can’t lie.

Fully expected.

#PayAttention

In just about every instance of spot duty, Mike Edwards has made plays.

Not long ago, he was the target of fans’ impatience and angst.

Symbolic of his role on the defense, his INT was his making the most of the opportunity that presented itself.

Solid coverage and a deflection by Carlton Davis led to Edwards snatching the ball and running with it.

Poetic.

Ummmmm…..hmmmm.

#RespectRonaldJones

If you’re not on board yet, you’re fooling yourself.

Ronald Jones is an offensive threat that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Well, damn!

This look of utter despair is what the Defense could bring to pretty much every QB on the schedule.

There was nothing Rodgers could do.

There was no magic.

He looked like he was just waiting for death at this point.

The cheese-stained white flag was waving here.

Suh pushed Rodgers to the ground and caused him to be partially concussed to a point he kept replaying the Jamel Dean 2nd quarter pick-6.

That’s why he couldn’t see the field correctly from 12:42 of the 2nd quarter until he exited the game with 6mins left.

That’s my big bang theory.

Ha!!

Ummm….it was the Defense.

And they got the WORST of Aaron Rodgers.

16 of 35 pass attempts completed.

2 INTs.

Passer Rating of 35.4

Can’t go wrong with a Chapelle meme.

They Out Here Sayin’: Week Of August 16th

“I don’t give a $#*% about what happened yesterday or the day before…”

I DON’T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY OR THE DAY BEFORE.
TODAY IS THE DAY AND THAT’S WHERE YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR TIME AND ENERGY.
— Tom Brady on media questioning his fit in Tampa

NBC Sports August 17th

Damn the odds.

Damn the doubts.

Brady is only out to impress himself and prove himself right in his goal to the be the best QB he can be in Tampa.

He’s probably pretty close to saying he’s done with the questions about anything New England related.

Don’t be surprised if “…and f*%k clam chowder” comes out his mouth by next week.

GROWING UP, PICKS AIN’T NEVER REALLY BEEN MY THING.
I’M TRYNNA MAKE IT MY THING.
LIKE, I’M HITTIN’ THE JUGGS EVERY DAY AFTER PRACTICE…
— Devin White on his goal to get 5 INTs during the season

Tampa Bay Buccaneers August 19th

Similar to former BUCS LB Kwon Alexander, White is making a commitment to getting more turnovers and he’s hoping for more INTs.

Alexander got to 3 INTs for a season high in Tampa.

White’s making his goal a minimum of 5 INTs…Or 5 Fumbles …Or BOTH.

JUST LET YOUR PADS DO THE TALKING.
AND WE’LL SEE.
— Jason Pierre-Paul on that team in New Orleans talking crazy

Tampa Bay Buccaneers August 17th

Pierre-Paul has been one of the most straight forward cats ever in his short time in Tampa. He doesn’t get caught up in any hype. He doesn’t feed into it. He doesn’t feed off of it.

The dude is serious business.

WE AINT THE BUCS.
WE’RE 80 MUTHAF*CKAS LOOKIN’ FOR A JOB.
GET ONE!
— Bruce Arians on BUCS training camp

My trust issues with him aside, Arians is one of my favourite voices in the NFL.

He sound like he’s from Louisiana or Mississippi even though he’s from New Jersey.

In three short sentences, he lays out some subtle yet strong motivation here.

Everyone is on the same playing field. No job is guaranteed.

And you’d best play/practice like you can lose your spot or win a spot.

About 40% bullsh*t….But 100% entertaining.

That’s Arians.

WE’VE GOT SOMETHING SPECIAL BREWING UP HERE.
IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT TYPE OF ROUTES YOU HAVE, YOU’VE GOTTA PUT THE WORK IN EVERY SINGLE DAY.
YOU GOTTA GO OUT TO THE PRACTICE FIELD WITH DETERMINATION....WITH A PURPOSE.
— Rob Gronkowski on the offensive talent

NFL Network August 20th

Gronkowski is another one that’s about business.

Never mind the hype and the expectations.

If the work isn’t put in, the results will show it.

And as longtime BUCS fan on that didn’t watch every other Rob Gronkowski interview or feature over his career, it’s definitely good to see yet another player with a high success rate keeping a high level of demand from himself and his teammates.

WHEN YOU PLAY TEAM SPORTS, YOU KNOW, YOU CAN’T BE A REAL PAIN IN THE ASS....
YOU’VE GOT TO BE A GREAT GUY.
YOU’VE GOTTA FIT IN.
YOU’VE GOT TO HAVE GREAT CHARACTER AND GUYS HAVE TO LIKE YOU AND TRUST YOU OR YOU DON’T FIT IN IN TEAM SPORTS....
— Tom Brady on his acclimating to new locker room in Tampa

Sirius XM NFL Radio August 19

With so many accolades to his name and all the notoriety, Brady seemingly still carries the want to be liked by teammates.

This is in contrast to many others that have reaches his level of success. In the heat of competition and in the process of pushing teammates to get to their level, many high level athletes tend to throw the want to be liked right out of the window. Just take a look at Kobe Bryant or Jordan.

I don’t think Brady’s any different. And that’s fine. In fact, that’s my preference. Bruce Arians also lives by the “Coach ‘em hard, hug ‘em later..” mantra set by Bear Bryant of the University of Alabama.

But this may be my first time hearing a player of Brady’s profile allude to making any effort to or caring to be liked .

Interesting.

I THINK THE GUY THAT, AS WE LOOKED OVER THE TAPE A LOT LAST YEAR, THAT DID A TREMENDOUS JOB THAT YOU NEVER REALLY MENTION, WAS WILL GHOLSTON.

BECAUSE, YA KNOW, SUH AND VITA. SUH PLAYED THE 3-TECHNIQUE AND VITA PLAYED ON THE NOSE.
BUT, TO THE TIGHT END SIDE, ALL THE DOUBLE TEAMS AND THE POWER SIDE RUNS, THAT WAS WILL GHOLSTON.
AND SO HE DID A TREMENDOUS JOB AND SOMEWHAT GETS OVERSHADOWED...
— DL Coach Kacy Rodgers on the importance of William Gholston in the run defense

Tampa Bay Buccaneers August 21st

William Gholston has been one of the most improved AND one of the most solid players on the roster over the last 7 seasons.

Yet, he’s one of the least celebrated. Gholston has been an anchor in the run defense since his Michigan State days.

It’s good to see Rodgers make a point to acknowledge his importance in last season’s Top Run Defense.
